Joint Statement from The Illinois Republican
Party, Asian American GOP Coalition, Illinois
Korean American Republican Organization
The Illinois Republican Party, Asian American GOP Coalition, and Illinois Korean American Republican Organization released the following statement in response to the removal of a passenger from an overbooked United Airlines’ flight:
“Illinois Republicans are disturbed by the video of airline personnel violently removing a passenger from an overbooked flight. Regardless of the circumstances or the person's race, creed, or religion, no one should encounter violence in the face of a disagreement. We hope that both United Airlines and the City of Chicago investigate the situation and ensure that appropriate procedures are in place to prevent similar incidents in the future. The conduct in this case is simply unacceptable.”
The statement is attributable to Tim Schneider, Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party, Yan (Grace) Cui, Chairman of the Asian American GOP Coalition, and Dr. Byoung Suh, Chairman of the Illinois Korean American Republican Organization.
